| We
have already obtained a Skate Park worth c£20,000 from a group
in Lincoln who were unable to find active support or a suitable
site due to the inactivity of local and district councillors and
the councils who showed little interest in the needs of their local
young people.
As a result the Skate Park has been in storage for the last 2 years
before we put in a successful bid to bring it to Mablethorpe, where
it is currently in secure short term storage.
Are we going to make the same mistake as the town of Lincoln?
The skate park is an integral, all-in-one skate park, measuring
approx 40m x 15m. It has a wooden frame with a plywood surface.
It was designed and constructed by Mark “Snoz” Marzales
(who designed and built The Works at Leeds) for Lincoln Urban Sports
Festival held at Lincoln Castle in September 2004. The total cost
of the skate park was about £15,000 (this includes about £10,000
for wood and materials and £5,000 labour.
