Skatepark open for Easter holiday

YOUNG people in Mablethorpe finally got their long awaited Skatepark when it opened on the dunes opposite the The Beck on Quebec Road.

One of the main driving forces behind the project was Margaret Codling from the Mablethorpe Skatepark Group. Margaret is delighted the skatepark will be open for Easter. “This is fantastic news for the town and young people in the area. Grandparents and parents will come to the town with their children to use the facility and this will help the local businesses. This is the beginning of good things for Mablethorpe and the skatepark will be a real asset.”

Leader of the Council, Councillor Doreen Stephenson, said the project had moved forward quickly thanks to support from the community: “The skatepark will be a first class facility and we’ve done everything we can to ensure it will be open in time for Easter. The Skatepark Committee in Mablethorpe has worked hard for this and I’m delighted that we have been able to assist them.

“By working with all sections of our community we can achieve some fantastic results and this is another great example of us supporting the community,” she explained.
